TBI has a new sex offender registry site

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- After two years of preparation, The T.B.I has updated their Tennessee Sex Offender Registry site.

T.B.I. released their new and improved Tennessee Sex Offender Registry list.

The new improvements make the site easier to navigate and provides clear information on offenders.

Kristen Pivlik McCallie, with the Child Advocacy Center of Hamilton County, says, “The prior site had many steps before you could even type in a name. This new site has a lot more features that are a lot more user friendly.”

The site was funded by a $180,000 grant.

Even though it this was a two year long project, the Child Advocacy Center of Hamilton County says that the release comes just in time for Halloween.

“So, the more knowledge that a parent has about what community their child might be in whether that be a school community, a church community or an actual neighborhood that they live in, could just help them make better choices as to how their child or children are supervised and where they are at in the community”, adds Pivlik McCallie.

There are over 1,000 offenders in the Tennessee Valley.
