TBI investigates another officer involved shooting in Tennessee
MOUNT PLEASANT, Tennessee (WDEF) – Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are taking over the case of another officer related shooting this week.
This one happened in Mount Pleasant overnight.
The call began with another chase earlier in the evening.
The Preliminary report says a Mount Pleasant officer tried to stop a suspected DUI driver.
But the driver would not stop and led police on a brief chase.
It ended at the intersection of Mount Joy Road and South Main Street.
Officers say at that point, 35 year old Bradley Ross Nelson got out of his vehicle and brandished a weapon.
They say the standoff escalated and an officer opened fire.
Nelson later died from the wound at the hospital.
None of the law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.
