TDFN: Cleveland at Rhea County
Tennessee Valley (WDEF) — In Rhea County, the Golden Eagles take flight in their home opener.
Normally, you see Rhea running the ball, but today Zach Pemberton took to the air to put the Golden Eagles on the board.
He found Jaden Austin all alone in the endzone to make it a 7 to nothing game.
The Cleveland offense was stalled, but their defense tried to pick up the slack.
Romeo Wykle gets the pick, and he is off to the races.
He gets the corner, and no one is going to catch him on his way to the endzone.
But Blue Raiders fans, slow down because there was a little dirty laundry on the field and the play came back.
Then the Rhea defense came up with a pick of their own.
Aulbrey Smith jumps the route and gets the ball back for the Golden Eagles.
Rhea ends up punting it back to Cleveland
All you keep hearing about is how fast the Blue Raiders team is, and Keegan Jones is fast – but it doesn’t matter how fast you are if you don’t have the ball.
The Blue Raiders got there act together, and held onto the ball long enough to pull out the W in this game 21 to 14.
