TDFN: NW Whitfield at Dalton

Tennessee Valley (WDEF) – Northwest Whitfield quarterback Luke Shiflett broke a bone in his non-throwing hand in the Bruins season opening win over Ringgold. You never would have known it though.

The MTSU commit threw five touchdown passes last week against South Atlanta.

Tonight, he wouldn’t mind enjoying another sterling performance against rival Dalton.

The Catamounts were showing off their new state of the art jumbotron for a packed house, and the players tore onto the field ready to put some hightlights on it. But . . . It was all Northwest starting out as Dominique Sistruck rumbles 60 yards down the field to put the Bruins on the board first, on their first possession.

Early in the second quarter, the Bruins go for a big 51 yard field goal, and make it – going up 10-zip.

About ten second fbefore haltime, and the Catamounts finally get on the board.

JP Tighe looks to throw, but he runs it in for the touchdown.

That made it 10-7 at halftime. Game went down to the wire.

Bruins failed to score in the final seconds as Dalton won 21-17.
