Tennessee Highway Patrol still investigating, but not talking about fatal crash involving trooper

JASPER, Tenn. (WDEF) State Troopers shut down part of I-24 on Friday to re-create the deadly crash last weekend involving a highway patrolman.

A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a Tennessee Highway Patrol vehicle.

But the THP has remained silent on what happened while their investigation continues.

However Commissioner Bill Gibbons did release this statement Friday on the crash.

“The Department of Safety and Homeland Security is saddened by the tragedy that occurred last weekend in Marion County,” Commissioner Bill Gibbons said.
“Our condolences are with the victim’s family and the Trooper Clyde Reeves and his family. This is a sad situation for all involved.
This is an ongoing investigation therefore, we are working with the District Attorney’s Office and are not at liberty to release information.”

“Thank you for your patience with this matter.”
