Tennessee Senate approves fetus burial bill

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Tennessee Senate on Wednesday went along with the House in passing a bill requiring the burial of aborted fetuses.

The House passed their version two days ago.

The Senate passed it by a vote of 27-6 on Wednesday.

It now goes to the Governor for his signature.

The bill requires either the woman or the medical service providing the abortion to pay for the cremation or burial of the fetus.

As we told earlier this week, supporters say the bill treats the unborn with the dignity they deserve.

But critics say it is just another move to stigmatize and discourage abortion.
