Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union opens new City Center Branch

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn (WDEF) – The Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union opened its new City Center Branch Monday Morning.

The new branch is located directly across the street from TVFCU’s current branch at 715 Market Street.

That branch has served TVFCU well during the past 43 years, but the three-story building no longer meets the credit union’s needs.

The branch has remained, but the drive-thru was built decades ago and is a challenge for today’s vehicles and downtown traffic patterns.

The new walk-up City Center Branch is located in the Market City Center building, beside Bantam & Biddy.

“We have a real commitment to the city center of Chattanooga. We didnt want to vacate these premises and not leave services for members. We have a tremendous amount of members who ride public transportation and with the way the downtown area is growing residentially there are a lot of members who actually live here. We felt like it was important to keep a presence here in the city center,” says Todd Fortner, CEO of TVFCU.

TVFCU will host a grand opening celebration for its new Southside Branch next week and that branch will include a drive thru.
