The Salvation Army is asking for your help

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – The Salvation Army hopes you can join them in doing the most good with a little shopping. Administrators desperately need donations, because the food pantry has now reached an all time low.

In fact, directors say they can hardly put together one complete food box for a family. Organizers currently reach into their own pockets to shop for most of the items they have now, and that’s where they need your help.

"We’re really needing folks to step up," said Kimberly George, director of marketing and development for the Salvation Army, "As you’re out grocery shopping there are a lot of buy one get one frees. You can buy one for your family and donate the free to the Salvation Army, or just donate both of them."

Organizers said they desperately need protein items like peanut butter and canned meats, as well as fruit and breakfast items. Donated items can be delivered to the Salvation Army, at 822 McCallie Ave. Monetary donations can also be made online. Just click on the related link.
