Three semi’s go up in flames; one driver killd

Cleveland TN (WDEF) – A crash involving three 18-wheelers in Cleveland resulted in one fatality.

It happened just after 8 A.M.

According to state troopers, two semi’s heading westbound on APD 40 slammed into each other;lost control and then collided into a third semi near Goldstar Drive.

According to Bradley County EMS official Stan Clark, when first responders arrived on scene, two of the trucks were fully involved in flames.

"They noted two patients sitting on the side of the road; at that time, they hadn’t made a determination that someone was still in one of the burning vehicles. He did report back that if there was someone still in the vehicle, they would not be able to survive," Clark said.

One of the drivers died in the crash and the other two were transported to SkyRidge Medical Center for examination with non-life threatening injuries.

According to law enforcement, it will take several days for the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Critical Response and Post Crash teams to complete a thorough investigation.
