Titans Feeling Confident During OTA’s
he Titans ended a nine year playoff drought last year, and as the team gets back together for OTA’s, the players are confident the good times will continue.
When you make the playoffs and see a bunch of the same guys back for OTA’s, giddy up.
Said linebacker Derrick Morgan:”For the most part we have our whole team in tact from last year. Then we added some components in the draft and free agency. I think we’ve just got to keep taking steps forward.”
Said defensive back Kevin Byard:”I think guys just want to be better. Guys want to make this team. I think we have a great roster. I think guys just want to keep improving and improving each other at every position.”
Said quarterback Marcus Mariota:”At this point and time of the year, everybody is trying to put their best foot forward. It’s a brand new year. You want to start the year on a positive note, and you just want to put forth your best football.”
Receiver Corey Davis hopes to see his best football. The team’s number one draft pick from last season missed five games with injuries, and didn’t catch a TD pass until the playoff loss to New England.
Said Davis:”Yeah it was tough. Lot of injuries up and down, but this year is going to be different. Just got to stay healthy and go out there and ball.”
Reporter to Mariota:”How has it been working with Corey Davis. Both of you healthy this off-season.”
Said Mariota:”Obviously been a great opportunity to be healthy and work with him. I think as we progress, we’ll continued to find chemistry.”
For the rookies, the OTA’s are all about chemistry, and learning.
Said rookie linebacker Raashad Evans:”Not used to actually practicing around May because most of the time we were on break in college. I’m definitely enjoying it. I think the good thing about it is I’m actually getting a chance to really learn from a lot of guys that have had a lot of experience and a lot of success at the position.”
