Titans Ruffle Falcons Feathers in Monday Practice Session

The Titans left Nashville for Atlanta on Monday to practice with the Falcons.
And the Dirty Birds didn’t mind getting a little dirty against Tennessee.

Quarterbacks Matt Ryan and Jake Locker were friendly enough at Monday’s practice.
Others not so much.
The Falcons Robert McClain and Jabin Sambrano gang up on the Titans Coty Sensabaugh.
Once that dust-up finished, here comes the Titans Tommie Campbell to crank it up again.
Not pictured is Falcons center Joe Hawley, who got in a fight for the second day, so head coach Mike Smith threw him out of Monday’s workout.
The Titans meanwhile took the flare-ups in stride.
Said Titans safety Michael Griffin,"I mean we want to be respected. We want to play fair, but at the same time be respected. No cheap shots. We don’t want to be a cheap-shot team, but we want to be respected at the same time, and play hard and physical within the lines and within the whistles."
Said Titans running back Dexter McCluster,"We started off with a little scrap. It’s the heat of the battle. We’re all out here competing. It’s all in fun though. We came out here and competed. I think we got each other better today."
Former Ooltewah high school stand-out Jacques Smith of the Falcons got his first chance to work against another NFL opponent, which was the main purpose on Monday.
Said Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt,"The best value of this is we get a chance to see our players compete against some other ones. Now we get to go back and look at it on tape and make our corrections."
While the coaching grade is yet to be determined, the Titans players believe it was a productive day.
Said receiver Nate Washington,"It was definitely a must for us. Something we definitely wanted. I think a lot of things have been said about us this off-season. But we had a lot in our minds we had to prove amongst ourselves. To come out here and compete as much as we possibly could."
Said Titans quarterback Jake Locker,"I thought we did a good job. We cleaned up a few things here and there. Like I said, there are a few looks we hadn’t seen yet that we are going to have to coach off the film for sure. For the most part, I thought we took advantage of the opportunity to get the ball down the field a little bit, and we made some plays."
