TN town hall meeting on effects of Big Tech
The Chattanooga meeting will be held on March 27
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Tennessee’s attorney general will host a town hall meeting in Chattanooga to address the impact that Big Tech has on children.
Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti announced the three upcoming town hall meetings on Monday.
He said the meetings will discuss the impact that Big Tech has on families throughout Tennessee.
The Chattanooga town hall meeting will take place Monday, March 27 at 6 p.m. It will be located at the Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts.
Skrmetti made the following statement regarding the town hall meetings:
“Social media platforms hurt kids with products designed to be addictive and recommended content that exacerbates depression and self-harm. Tennessee is proud to be a leader in pursuing transparency and accountability for social media companies. We look forward to hearing from Tennesseans across the state about how social media is affecting kids.”
General Skrmetti is also currently investigating social media companies. He is trying to learn about what harmful effects social media can have on children.
There will also be two other town hall meetings on the topic in Tennessee. Those will be held in Clarksville and Jackson.
