Trackhoe over turns, catches fire

RINGGOLD, Ga. (WDEF) — A man is lucky to be uninjured after the trackhoe he was in overturned and caught fire.

It happened this afternoon near Georgia Exit 348 right off Interstate 75.

Catoosa County Fire and other authorities responded.

Police directed traffic while vehicles were coming from the exit.

Assistant Fire Chief Steven Quinn says the trackhoe was on a steep hill when it overturned.

He says hydraulic fluid and a spark from a battery that came loose likely caused the fire.

The operator walked away uninjured.
