Tunnel Hill man facing sodomy and child molestation charges

TUNNEL HILL, Georgia (WDEF) – A Tunnel Hill man was arrested and charged with two counts of sodomy and two counts of child molestation.

Steven Pyburn, 44, is accused of molesting and sodomizing a girl over a three year period. 

The case against Pyburn began when the victim told her father she was being abused by Pyburn.

When deputies arrived at Pyburn’s home to question him about the allegations, he reportedly denied the girl’s accusations. 

The victim was interviewed by a forensic specialist at the Children’s Advocacy Center.

A warrant was issued for Pyburn’s arrest after investigators found physical evidence inside his home that linked Pyburn to the crime. 

Pyburn was was later arrested in Hamilton County as a fugitive from Georgia. He has since been transported back to Catoosa County where he currently sits in jail awaiting his first court date.
