TVA employees spend day of serving in Chattanooga area

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – TVA employees were out in the community and volunteering as part of their Day of Serving.

This morning, people were volunteering at 22 different organizations in the Chattanooga area.

One group spent their time building a fence at Teen Challenge.

Volunteers also did included landscaping, electrical work, carpentry, painting and cleaning.

About 300 TVA federal employees are participating.

Organizers say they are living out TVA’s mission and they are glad they get this chance to give back.

A second day of serving is planned for November 15th.
