TBI charges nurses with using their positions to get drugs

JOHNSON CITY, Tennessee (WDEF) – A pair of northeast Tennessee nurses have been indicted for prescription drug fraud.

The TBI investigated two nurses that both worked for Johnson City Medical Center.

It started with Sarah Elizabeth Thacker.

Investigators say she used her position as a Registered Nurse to divert hydrocodone pills for patients to herself.

Another tip led them to another nurse at Johnson City Medical.

They say Kimberly C. Click also used her position as a Registered Nurse to get drugs for her own personal use.

Thacker faces 12 counts while Click has 33.
