Two people killed in early morning motorcycle crash on Veterans Bridge

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Two people are dead after an early morning motorcycle crash on Veterans Bridge.

Chattanooga Police say just before 1:30 am Monday morning they were called to Barton Avenue for a crash.

Investigators determined that a motorcycle was traveling east on Frazier Ave. approaching Barton Ave when the driver, 32 year old Clinton Gard, failed to turn, continuing straight through the intersection into a guardrail.

Hamilton County EMS pronounced both Gard and his passenger 26 year old Brooklyn Lynam dead at the scene.

Veterans Bridge reopened at 8:30 am once the preliminary investigation was concluded.

The Chickamauga Police Department posted to Facebook saying “We are saddened to hear of the passing of one of our own in public safety, Clinton Gard. Clinton was an outstanding Paramedic for Puckett EMS and a great friend to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, co workers and all who was involved.”
