Two teens charged with fatal beating of dog caught on video

CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – The investigation started Tuesday with several complaints to Cleveland Police about a graphic video when a young man kills a dog with a large stick.

Bradley County and Cleveland investigators found it happened in the southern part of the County on Carter Road.

They have charged a pair of 16 year olds in the case.  One was beating the dog on camera, the other was recording it.

The juveniles both face charges of Aggravated Animal Cruelty and Intentional Killing of an Animal.

Sheriff Steve Lawson added, “as the initial reports came in, my office and Cleveland Police Department Chief
Mark Gibson were willing to work together alongside District Attorney Steve Crump to achieve a resolution,
especially in a matter effecting the public to this degree”.
