Two Women Hit By Train, One Dead

Two women were walking on a train track around 4a.m. near S. McDonald Rd. in Bradley County.
One is now dead the other recovering in a hospital.
EMS officials said one woman was knocked down into an embankment and the other ran for help.
Bradley County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Brian Smith says they’re trying to figure out if a third person was there.
"We are wanting to speak to the boyfriend of one of the victims.  We have yet to locate him," said Smith.
He says the boyfriend is not a suspect at this point.
"We were told by a citizen that he was in the area with the females early this morning and we just want to know what his involvement was," said Smith.
Smith says they’re not sure yet if foul play was involved, but someone close to one victim’s family, who didn’t want to be identified, said they’re suspicious.
"They have suspicions that something did go bad, go wrong.  But I don’t want to speculate on that. She was just walking her home to protect her, and we don’t know the whole story and we probably never will," said the family friend.
This investigation is ongoing.
The second victim is in stable condition at a Chattanooga hospital.
