Union Gospel Mission Feeds the Hungry
A local ministry braves the rain to serve Chattanooga’s less fortunate.
Union Gospel Mission provided free lunch and dessert at Miller Park on Monday.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and cold drinks were all on the menu.
New Sholer baptist church was on site offering free haircuts for those in need.
Union Gospel says events like these are a chance for them to follow their faith and help out the community.
“Well it’s important to us because God calls us to meet those needs to minister to them,” says Union Gospel Executive Director, Jon Rector. “There’s other places in town where they can get a meal. But for us we get to come down and give them something different, maybe something special.”
Union Gospel Mission hosts three to five free meals for the community each year.
