UPDATE: Saturday Night Cleveland Stabbing

Three people stabbed with a kitchen knife Saturday night… A 21 year old woman, her mother, and a neighbor who ran to their aid.

"They did receive critical injuries so both of them were flown out by Life Force to Erlanger on the night of the stabbing," said Officer Evie West with the Cleveland Police Department.

And as of Monday….

"The victims that sustained critical injuries, they’re still at Erlanger. They’re still in critical care," she said.

The neighbor who ran to their aid, 65 year old Dennis Grissom, received superficial cuts to his upper torso.

Sadly, three small children looked on and officials said one of them was spattered with his mother’s blood.

"From witnesses statement, the child was close by when the mother was injured and so I believe some of the blood got on to the younger child," said West.

The suspect is Vicente Ramirez Fernandez.

He and one of the victims, 21-year-old Krissy Bean, were in a relationship so the incident is considered a "domestic situation".

He is the father of the youngest child.

"The officers told him to get on the ground. They put him in handcuffs and he was in custody within seconds of when they got there," said West.

Fernandez is being charged with attempted first degree murder.
