UTC Women in Third Place Heading Into Final Round of Chattanooga Classic
(gomocs.com) CHATTANOOGA—The Chattanooga Mocs third after 36 holes Monday in the Chattanooga Classic at Black Creek Club. The Mocs opened with 302 and closes the day with 293 totaling 595. That’s five off the pace set by ETSU leading with 590 and one out of second held by Iowa at 594. James Madison is fourth with 596.
Esme Hamilton leads four Mocs in the top 20 with a 3-under 141. She’s second behind the Bucs Tereza Melecka who tallied 4-under 140. Iowa’s Morgan Goldstein is third with 142.
Hamilton began with 72 which was two ahead of Dorota Zalewska’s 74. Daphne van Son and Beatriz Barrios added 76 and 80, respectively for the opening round 302. Jefimija Dordevic had the drop score with 81.
Hamilton came back with a season-best 69 in the afternoon. It was a spotless card with three birdies and 15 pars. Barrios and van Son responded with 73s as Zalewska completed the counters with 78. Dordevic dropped an 82.
van Son joins Hamilton in the top 10 tied for eighth at 149. Zalewska sits in a tie for 15th at 152, one ahead of Barrios (153) in 19th. Dordevic shot 163 for the day.
