Valentine’s Day Preparations

It’s that time of year again when some gentlemen go out of their way to buy the perfect flowers, chocolates, balloons and teddy bears for their special someone.

Mikal Clark, Chattanooga said, "I’m buying my girlfriend Valentine’s flowers." With only two days until the Hallmark holiday arrives, florists at Humphrey’s Flowers in Chattanooga have been busy putting together hundreds of arrangements. Rob Johnson, Humphrey’s President said, "Red roses. You know Valentine’s is a tough holiday just because the amount of orders we get, but it is an easy holiday because guys are pretty predictable." Johnson said several factors go into each Valentine’s Day including what day of the week the holiday falls on. Johnson said, "This year Valentine’s is on a Saturday as everybody knows, so its probably not one of our busiest Valentine’s Day just because of that. A lot of people like to send flowers to the workplace on Valentine’s Day because they kind of make the biggest show."
And to compliment flowers, why not buy chocolates too! Edible Arrangements in Hixson fielded calls and prepared hundreds of chocolate covered strawberries and fruit all day Thursday. Jamie Rice, Edible Arrangements Manager said, "We have been really busy with orders. They have been coming in like crazy, the phones are ringing off the hook, customers are walking in and the internet is blowing up so yes we have been really, really busy."

Edible Arrangements and Humprey’s Flowers will both be open Friday and Saturday for any last minute orders.
