Veterans, military families honored at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Veterans Day

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Today people across the nation are taking a moment to honor veterans and the sacrifice they made for our country.

Here in Chattanooga, Saturday dozens gathered to do just that at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

They also honored the families who supported those veterans while they were away.

Mayor Andy Berke spoke at the ceremony about the pain those veterans endured for us today.

Mayor Berke says, “Those scars are apparent here in the city, they are apparent everywhere and on behalf of the city of Chattanooga, we thank you for what you have endured in for the fact that you have served us so well.”

There was a shuttle from the armory to cemetery today to make sure there was enough parking for every disable veteran.
