Victims identified in boat crash during fishing tournament

DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (AP) – Wildlife officers are investigating a boating accident on an East Tennessee lake that left one man dead.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said two bass fishing boats collided on Douglas Lake on Saturday morning.

The agency says 65-year-old Billy Ray Martin of Pikeville, Kentucky, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another occupant of his boat was being treated for serious injuries.

Both occupants of the other boat were not injured.

The agency says one of the boats was involved in a bass fishing tournament.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the agency.
