Hamilton County honors Vietnam Veterans

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Hamilton County was one of communities across the country that honored Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Day.
This is the anniversary of the day that troops were withdrawn from the county and the last POWs came home.
153 Hamilton County residents lost their lives in the war.
Veteran Bill Norton shared his memories of serving in the war and returning home.
Prisoner of War John Sparks was honored as the 2022 Hamilton County Patriot.
Mayor Coppinger calls him “the true definition of an unsung hero who finished as an E-6 Sergeant and is the longest serving Hamilton County POW.
