Vietnam Veterans host annual Veterans Day ceremony at Chattanooga National Cemetery

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Officials paused today to honor the eleventh hour of the eleventh month.
    Now celebrated each year as Veterans Day.
    This year’s Veterans Day commemoration at the Chattanooga National Cemetery was hosted by Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 203.
    This year’s ceremony recognized the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
    And all Vietnam Era Veterans in attendance received a 50th Anniversary Commemorative pin.
    Hamilton County Commissioner Joe Graham said, "Every year, you know, this service honors one different particular branch of the service and this year it was the Vietnam Veterans, so what a great turnout for them, and what a great program."
    Vietnam veteran and Silver Star Recipient "Bud" Alley served as keynote speaker.
    Today’s Veterans Day ceremony featured the Alhambra Shrine Highlander Pipes and Drums, and the V.V.A. Honor Guard posted the colors, delivered the 21-gun salute, and played taps.
