Volkswagen invites job seekers to visit the plant for a career fair
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – For the first time since the plant first opened, Volkswagen Chattanooga will host a career fair at the plant.
They are still trying to hire 1,100 new team members between now and mid-April to help build the new midsize SUV.
The onsite fair will be Friday, Sept.16 from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at the Volkswagen Chattanooga Conference Center.
“As we work towards ramping up production of a new SUV, we first must add nearly 1,100 new people to our top notch team,” said Mario Duarte, Sr. Manager of Organizational Development at Volkswagen Chattanooga. “Taking advantage of the open positions with Aerotek is the first step down the path to a fulfilling career at Volkswagen,” he said.
Bot Volkswagen and Aerotek recruiters will be at the fair. along with current plant employees to answer questions.
You will start as an Aerotek employee, with the possibility of becoming a full-time Volkswagen worker.
Starting pay averages $13.50 an hour, with guaranteed raises and bonus every six months, topping out at $15.50 before conversion to Volkswagen employment. Once converted to Volkswagen the salary range starts at an average of $15.50 to $23 per hour.
