Volkswagen studying robots for your future self-driving car

FRANKFURT, Germany (WDEF) – Volkswagen announced today a working agreement with Kuka which is a company that specializes in automation.

Their project is to create robots to charge your self-driving car.

According to a Volkswagen statement, “The driver simply has to position the electrically powered automobile in a designated parking space. The robot takes care of connecting up the charging cable for the driver.”

The companies are also working on other projects to bring additional service elements to self-driving cars.

Volkswagen developed Sedric to show us what they have in mind for their self-driving cars of the future.
