Vols Freshman QB Kaidon Salter Suspended to Start Spring Practice

Vols kicked spring practice on Thursday. Part of the excitement this spring would be the quarterback battle. Who would take the reigns of Josh Heupel’s new up-tempo attack? Then we learned one quarterback has been suspended. Incoming freshman QB Kaidon Salter was not on the field. Salter is sidelined after being arrested earlier this month along with three other U-T players, on charges related to misdemeanor drug possession.

Reporter:”Is there any timeline for those guys to return to practice?”
Said Heupel:”There isn’t. That’s being handled on campus, and as we receive information, we’ll act accordingly. There are high expectations and high standards to represent Tennessee football. At the same time we are going to stay true to those kids and support them as they go through this process.”
