Vols Linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr May Stay With Team After All

Vols linebacker Darrin Kirkland Junior announced last week that he was leaving Tennessee. But it appears Kirkland has had a change of heart. Media reports indicate Kirland has met with head coach Jeremy Pruitt and will likely return to the team. Kirkland announced on twitter that he was leaving Rocky Top as a grad transfer, and he will have two years of eligibility left. Injuries have plagued his UT career. A knee injury sidelined Kirkland all of last season. Pruitt should have the official word on Kirkland’s status when he arrives Tuesday at the SEC meetings in Destin, Florida.
