Volunteer Call: Clean & Green Cleanup

Chattanooga (WDEF) – This week our volunteer call goes out for Clean and Green 2015.

We honor local volunteers each week with our Do The Right Thing contest and award them $500.

On April 25th, the River City Company holds their 8th annual Clean and Green event.

Individuals, families, business or civic groups can sign up to help clean up the town.

In the past, that has included picking up trash, painting over graffiti, planted greenery and restored a playground.

Paige Southard, River City Company Program Manager says “It’s a way for community members to get involved in downtown and see immediate results.”

Check-in at Miller Plaza on Market Street.

They will provide your supplies, including gloves, trash bags and even breakfast.

Get more info and sign up at cleanandgreenchattanooga.com or call 423.265.3700.

You can also nominate a neighborhood for cleanup.

Post and follow the progress on Twitter at #CleanandGreenCHA

And don’t forget to nominate someone who goes above and beyond for our community for our Do The Right Thing Award each week.
