Volunteer Call: Help Stock Food For Stamp Out Hunger

Chattanooga (WDEF) –  Our weekly Do The Right Thing Volunteer Call focuses on the annual Post Office food drive on Saturday.

Postal workers take up canned food donations in the Stamp Out Hunger drive.

Just leave them in your mailbox.

But the Chattanooga Food Bank could also use some help processing the goods that will roll in.

They need volunteers to collect, sort and transfer food at the Food Bank or at local post offices.

This is the largest one-day food drive in the United States.

You can sign up to help on Saturday through The Volunteer Center Website.

You can learn more about the Chattanooga Food Bank online.

Plus learn more about how Stamp Out Hunger works by going to the National Association of Letter Carrier’s website.

Our Do The Right Thing campaign awards volunteers in the area that go the extra mile.

Nominate a volunteer at our WDEF.com page and find out who our most recent winner is.
