An explosion last night at the Brush Creek substation caused a power outage in the wee hours for the Dunlap area.
Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative posted video on their Facebook page today of what happened.
They say a lightening arrestor “failed.”
The “failure” is an explosion and lots of sparking.
Residents said it happened around 2:30 AM.
Some said they heard the explosion.
TVEC didn’t tell us how many people lost power at the time, but they are down to just 8 homes without power this afternoon.
