UPDATE: Water Main Breaks in Lookout Valley

Tennessee-American water company restored water to Lookout Valley around 3:00 this morning.  Tenn-Am says residents may experience air or discolored water.  The company suggests running COLD water for a few moments to clear it.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Some homes are still without water, or have low pressure after an accident in Lookout Valley.

Around noon today the Tennessee American Water received a phone call about a water main break on Wauhatchie pike.

The break is under the rail road tracks and affects approximately 50 homes.

Crew members say that this particular break is tricky and requires them to be very careful and attentive.

“Well this is a pretty unique project especially where it lies underneath the railroad tracks. What we are going to do is dig down on both sides of the rail road tracks and just install a new main all the way through.”

There is no timetable on when the new water main will be installed.

But, once it’s installed, everything will return to normal for those who are affected.
