What’s Trending? Kanye the Cop, McDonald’s Chicken McGriddle, and a Thermal Imaging Smartphone
The Pope has something to say about Donald Trump, calling him “not Christian” if the Republican presidential front-runner wants to address illegal immigration only by building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump, who’s a Presbyterian, said, “For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful.”
If Kanye West wants to get out of debt, Philadelphia police have a job offer for him. The police department tweeted a photo with the caption “We r hiring, @kanyewest! Starting salary of $47,929; U could be debt-free by the year 3122!” Kanye tweeted last week that he has “$53 million in personal debt” and that Mark Zuckerberg should invest one-billion dollars in him, since he’s the “greatest artist of all time.”
If you’ll be traveling through Central Ohio anytime soon and want to try something new, Mcdonald’s is testing out its own version of a southern classic: chicken and waffles. They call this sandwich the Chicken McGriddle. It’s a fried chicken patty surrounded by a pair of maple syrupy-sweet buns. 11 Mcdonald’s restaurants in Central Ohio will have the offering on the menu through the end of March. It could go national depending on customer feedback.
Amazon has acquired Woody Allen’s latest movie for its streaming service. The online company will distribute Allen’s film as a traditional theatrical release in North America this summer and then make it available through its Prime video subscription service. The film is a romantic comedy set in the 1930’s that stars Steve Carell, Kristen Stewart and Parker Posey.
Here’s something you probably never thought you needed, but now wont be able to live without — a thermal imaging phone! Caterpillar, the company that makes construction equipment, just created the world’s first fully integrated thermal-imaging smartphone. The Cat S60 runs on the Android Marshmallow operating system. It will retail for $599 when it goes on the market later this year.
