A German shorthaired pointer called C-J has become America’s top dog. CJ won best in show at the 140th Westminster Kennel Club event last night. The three-year-old beat out 2,700 other entries in 199 breeds and varieties to win the nation’s most prestigious dog competition.
How would you like some free video games? Sega is giving away a bundle of five classic games on Steam. The free bundle is part of Steam’s “Make Love not War” promotion. It includes “Jet Set Radio,” “Golden Axe,” and three games from the “Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit” series.
Jeb Bush used Twitter to woo South Carolina voters by appealing to their second amendment support… and the post quickly went viral in a bad way. The former Florida Governor tweeted a photo of a hand gun engraved with a personalized insignia. The tweet simply said “America.” Backlash and jokes quickly flooded the social media site. Posts ranged from pictures of Elmer Fudd and a limp shotgun to changing the insignia on the gun to “please clap.”
Remember the record-breaking Powerball draw last month – with a jackpot worth more than a billion-and-a-half-dollars? The world is about to meet one of the three lucky winners from that drawing. One of the tickets was sold at a Publix grocery store in Melbourne Beach, Florida – and that winner will revealed himself – or herself later today. A Tennessee couple was the first to come forward. A third winning ticket was sold in California – but that winner hasn’t come forward yet.
Homer Simpson is going live from Springfield later this year. Fox says the iconic animated dad will star in a live segment at the conclusion of the May 15th episode of “The Simpsons.” Homer will appear for about three minutes, discussing the news of the day and possibly answering social media questions. Dan Castellaneta, the actor who voices Homer, will act out the character in real time using motion capture technology.
