Whitfield County investigates death of juvenile

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – The Whitfield County Sheriff is investigating the death of a juvenile at a home over the weekend.

The body was found outside the home on East Walnut Avenue on Sunday.

They are not ruling it foul play at this point, pending a medical examiner’s report.

The teenage boy did not have a legal guardian and was in the care of the state.

But he left a group home in Columbus, Georgia on Friday.

The body was found with no shoes or socks on.
