UPDATE: Woman cited in May wreck involving Whitfield County school bus

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) – According to the Dalton Daily Citizen, a Cohutta woman has been cited in a May 11th wreck involving a Cohutta Elementary School bus.

The newspaper, citing a report from the Georgia State Patrol, says 37-year-old Summer Leann Stafford was rounding a curve in the road when she looked away from the road to find an item in her car, causing her right-side tires to go off the edge of the road.

She over-corrected and the left front side of her car hit the back of the school bus, the Daily Citizen says.

According to the Daily Citizen, Stafford was cited for failure to maintain lane.

No children were injured in the wreck; Stafford was injured but did not require an ambulance, the paper says.

The Daily Citizen also says that the bus sustained minor damage.

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga, (WDEF) – A bus wreck took place in Whitfield County this afternoon.

The Dalton Daily Citizen says the Whitfield County School bus wreck was on Cohutta-Varnell Road.

The paper says none of the eight Cohutta Elementary School students were injured.
