Whitfield Education Foundation donates $50K to teachers

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) – Thanks to the Whitfield Education Foundation and their sponsors, several schools in Whitfield County are now the proud recipients of grants.

More than 50 thousand dollars were given to educators and their schools. This is the largest amount the foundation has given in their 27 year history.

The money will go towards things like purchasing books, math tools, and art supplies.

One teacher at New Hope Elementary says they were granted funds last year and were able to see students creative skills shine.

“It was just incredible to see them interact with their principal and build relationships with her. It was also awesome just to see their creativity come out and to see their ideas and their projects. They were so thrilled to share those.” said Renee Griffin, New Hope Elementary teacher.

In total 30 grants were given out.
