Whitwell Police Chief quits

WHITWELL, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Police Chief of Whitwell in Marion County has reportedly walked off the job.

Marion County Sheriff Bo Burnette confirms that the city manager asked him to help them with patrols on Thursday because of a manpower shortage.

But he doesn’t know about what’s going on with the department.

So a County deputy has been patrolling the city to help out.

City leaders have scheduled a meeting on Saturday afternoon to discuss the situation.

Kenneth Seagraves took over as chief last year after James Rodney Easterly was indicted on theft charges.
