Wichman Monuments operator pleads guilty to theft

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A cemetery gravestone maker pleaded guilty to theft charges on Thursday.

Trent Wichman operated Wichman Monuments in Brainerd.

The company had been in business for 72 years before closing down last year.

This morning, he pleaded guilty to six counts of theft of property.

Clients accused him of stopping taking orders as the company ran into financial troubles.

Several said he took their money but never delivered the tombstones.

Wichman will be sentenced in August.
