World of Wheels preview includes a Charger unveiling today

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The 50th Anniversary of The O’Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels Custom Auto Show kicks off this weekend in Chattanooga.

It’s happening in the Exhibition Hall of the Convention Center, and starts tomorrow for the three day run.

Exhibitors set up on Thursday, but there was a special unveiling for a Cleveland man.

Lew Winters of Super RodZs in Cleveland, was commissioned by Ricky Jones last year to do a custom renovation of a rare 1969 Dodge Charger.

They met at last year’s show, and he was impressed by Lew’s work.

Jones owned this car for 17 years, and had dreamed of fully restoring it.

Jones had not yet seen his newly restored car until this afternoon.

And this was his reaction.

“I love it. I love it I’m just, I’ve always wanted to do that I just, I was not able to – While the car was being restored I had a new garage built, uh, climate controlled to put it in.”

The 50th World of Wheels show opens tomorrow at 3pm at the convention center.

Dawn Wells, Maryann from Gilligan’s Island, is the special guest.
