Worley sentenced to longest sentence ever in Grundy County for child rape

ALTAMONT, Tennessee (WDEF) – A Grundy County man has been sentenced to 150 years in prison for the rape of a child.

The victim was under 13 years of age.

James Allen Worley was convicted on four counts of child rape and one count of attempted child rape.

The incidents happened between 3 and four years ago.

Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum said of the case  “In almost 30 years of law enforcement this is the most heinous case of child rape I’ve ever seen. I am proud of the investigative and prosecutorial work done in this case.”

“I also want this to serve as notice to any child sex predator, these cases will be aggressively investigated and prosecuted. To my knowledge this is the longest sentence ever handed down in Grundy County…and rightfully so.”
