UPDATE: Man in custody after Cleveland officials issue urgent public safety alert for ‘armed and dangerous’ subject

UPDATE (7/16/26): Deountray Dickey was taken into custody by the Cleveland Police Department Crime Suppression team and the U.S. Marshals, according to the Cleveland Police Department.

They say on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 12:51 p.m., Cleveland Police officers located Dickey in a vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

During the encounter, Dickey forcibly pushed two occupants out of the vehicle, climbed into the driver’s seat, and fled the scene, initiating a vehicle pursuit that was soon discontinued.

The Cleveland Police Department says the vehicle Dickey was driving was located abandoned behind Buddy’s BBQ on Paul Huff Parkway.


Cleveland Bradley County OEM has issued an urgent public safety alert for an armed and dangerous subject.

Deountray Dickey has been identified and is wanted for active federal warrants and carjacking\assault.

They say this is for the vicinity of Paul Huff Parkway and Callen Lane NW in Cleveland.

The subject is described as 6’1, 230 pounds and is wearing a black shirt and black pants.

He has a forehead tattoo between his eyebrows.

They say to not approach the subject if seen. Lock your doors and secure your property. Do not answer the door for unknown persons.

If seen, call 911 immediately.
