Police find more Stephen Kinder animals at Dalton home
DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Investigators with the Dalton police department have recovered dozens of animals in poor health from the home of Stephen Kinder, the dog trainer who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound yesterday.
Officers found animals suffering from apparent neglect and living in horrible conditions at a home on Mattie Street in Dalton.
Police were following up on an original report that a dog owner recovered his animals from Kinder Dog training in poor condition.
At the home they found 16 dogs, along with two baby goats, two turtles, a snake, and in the back yard there were nine ducks.
There were several dead animals also.
The investigation led to Bradley County authorities arresting Stephen Kinder 3 days ago and charging him with animal cruelty.
Thursday, Dalton authorities learned that Kinder had killed himself with a self-inflicted gunshot about 1:30.
The rescued animals have all been safely placed with shelters or homes in Georgia.
These dogs were rescued by Canine Pet Rescue in Dacula, Georgia.
