Tennessee Pothole Patrol Schedule


NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The Tennessee Department of Transportation has launched a massive mission to patch the plethora of potholes across the state.

TDOT officials said in a statement that the agency plans to make use of the forecast for warmer temperatures over the next few days by using all available manpower to make repairs as quickly as possible. There will be multiple crews in all four regions of the station patching the damage left behind by snow and ice. Repairing all the damage will take weeks.

TDOT says most repairs will be made during off-peak hours, but drivers should still prepare for delays in area where work is occurring.

The agency is posting patching schedules online at www.tdot.state.tn.us/maintenance/potholes.htm .

Here is the posting for our area right now.

District 28 – Coffee, Bledsoe, Cannon, Franklin, Grundy, Marion, Sequatchie, Warren, and Van Buren Counties

  • Pothole operations are in process and will continue throughout this week (March 11-13) in ALL counties as the rain will allow. Work is being done during regular work hours.
  • Priority Route in District 28 is I-24.
  • Crews are on-call after hours to respond to emergency call outs as needed.
  • Weekend (March 14-15) work will also be weather dependent.
  • 1 crew is working in each county at the current time, with more working the interstate sections as necessary.
  • We will notify travelers of severe or abundant potholes on I-24 by using portable message boards.

District 29 – Hamilton, Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Polk, and Rhea Counties

  • Pothole operations are in process and will continue throughout this week (March 11-13) in ALL counties as the rain will allow. Work is being done during regular work hours.
  • Priority Routes in District 29 are I-24, I-75, US 27 and SR 153.
  • Crews are on-call after hours to respond to emergency call outs as needed.
  • Weekend (March 14-15) work will also be weather dependent.
  • 1 crew is working in each county at the current time, with more working the interstate sections as necessary.
  • We will notify travelers of severe or abundant potholes on priority routes by using overhead Dynamic Message Signs or portable message boards.
