The program has been going on for six months during the winter.

It is a partnership with Chattanooga Gas to help provide payment assistance to residents’ natural gas bills.

The program is ensuring that warmth and comfort is given to residents.

It is all about helping people in the area.

“There are people that have difficulty affording their utility payments. These programs fill in that gap. Not necessarily our homeless neighbors which great shelters do, but just a burden for our precariously housed neighbors,” said Salvation Army Area Commander, Douglas McClure. “They have an opportunity to receive assistance and stay in their homes.”

This program is available to Chattanooga Gas residential customers.
