Chattanooga police investigate shooting near Hamiliton Place Boulevard

At 2:04 Monday afternoon Chattanooga Police were called to the 2000 block of Hamilton place boulevard. They got a shot fired call at the CBL office building

According to investigators, the suspect is now dead, and there were no other victims.

“What information we know a shooter was inside the building and was attempting to execute a plan, that failed he shot himself and he is deceased there were no other victims that were shot we are still continuing this investigation this is an ongoing and active investigation” said Victor Miller Chattanooga Police Officer

The situation led to a lockdown of nearby businesses. Those were eventually lifted after more information came to light.

“Whenever there is potentially one shooter, we always go in thinking there is a second shootee. We do not believe there any other shooters and no threat to the public, that’s the reason why we’ve talked with nearby businesses and told them they can remove their lockdown”. said Miller

The investigation continues, but there is still no official word on who the gunman was or who he was targeting.
