Frazier Avenue restriping project to begin next Monday
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Work is slated to start on restriping Frazier Avenue to one lane each way next Monday.
This is in the wake of a fatal crash last November that killed a mother and her baby after a road rage incident.
After months of debate, this redesign hopes to mitigate future crashes that could harm pedestrians.
This work combined with the announced work to the Walnut Street Bridge has some concerned about the impact on Northshore businesses, and what could be done to help them.
A representative for Chattanooga city government said, “We are doing mitigation grants for the Walnut Street Bridge renovation, but it’s the city’s policy to not give mitigation grants for projects that are less than 90 days, so likely not for the street.”
The work on Frazier Avenue is expected to last roughly four days.
